  • Strong shoulders?

Anyone help me out on how to get strong shoulders. Whenever i used to lift weights, my shoulders always seemed to be the weakest area. I used to use the shoulder press machine at the gym but didnt see much improvement. I've heard, dumbbell shoulder presses are probably the best exercise but i'm not sure.

Dumbbells and barbells are always better than the machine - especially for shoulders i find, as you're not locked into a plane of motion that your shoulders don't like.  Give them a go.

There's loads of great options - presses are great, and also cable exercises - just do a search online.

I used to have weak shoulders - i hit them hard, three times a week for three months, pulled them up level with everything else - that was 10 years ago, and they're still strong.  Dumbbell press are definitely better than the machine, so are Arnold presses (google them), close grip upright rowing, and side and front dumbbell raises.

One thing about shoulders, i find they can take a lot of work and not hurt the next day - whereas chest usually hurts when you work it hard.
