Hello everyone, thanks for reading this!

After having 2 children i piled on 4 stone, because i am tall (5ft 8) i dont actually look that overweight, more curvy lol. But i realise health-wise i am.

So i have managed to lose 2 and half stone, but have now got stuck!!! I can diet for weeks and not lose anything, which of course makes it very hard to stick to. I am very busy so dont have loads of time for exercise, but do try to fit in 3 sessions a week (which is what my doctor recommended).

However no more weight is coming off, and i still have another stone and a half to go.

I would be soooooo grateful for any help and advice.

    Take care

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    hi yg

1st off let me say i encourage you to get this sorted and have total faith you will xx

how come you put on so much weight, why was that... i mean most people after having their kids immediately take steps to losing the stone or 20 pounds that their pregnancy caused -bless!i love kids and am newly an aunt myself hehe-  i mean how did you let it get to 56 pounds. that is a lot of weight not to notice going on.

where i am headed is...that you let yourself go like that. what psychological catalyst was there. it sounds much deeper than your light hearted post implies. i infer that much more is going on inside yoga girl. something.

you dont just stop losing. not for more than a day or two. either you are eating more than you say you are to yourself or you need to lower your cal intake. clearly as you lose weight you need to adjust as you are feeding a smaller body

dont go mad on exercise. my dad is a doctor and says for very overweight/obese people walking is the best thing we can do. 1000 kcals a day and a walk round the block is perfecto.

enjoy your climb up to loving the new you, i know i am xx

first ogf all congrats on loosing all that weight, great stuff!!

we all hit a plateau when loosing weight but the best advice is keep going, ive been told in the past to change when im eating, have a jig about with your food coz sometimes when we're dieting we tend to stick to the same things.

i to put alot of weight on after having kids, it wasnt letting myself go more just eating convinience foods as it was easy, as well as eating the same as my partner when he obviously had a different metabolism to me.

just try and stay positive and keeo going!

Thank you totally fab for your rather back-handed response!!!

I put on nearly 4 stone while pregnant as explained. It didnt "creep" up on me nor did i "let myself go. I put it on over 9mths of pregnancy. Nearly 2 stone went the moment i had the baby. But then i fell pregnant again! I assume you have no kids.

I have no deep issues thank you, and i am extremally happy. I,m a great mum, have a fab marriage and a thriving career.

Nor am i obese. I am within my healthy weigh range and my doctor and dietition both saying its is normal to plato for months on end.

Please do not reply to any more of my posts as i do not want your kind of help.

Oh and by the way i already love myself and think maybe its you who needs the therapy!!!

If you are in your healthy weight range, your body won't lose any weight unless you burn off 500calories a day more than you take in.

I'm assuming that you eat well, so increasing exercise is the only way to go. You should be exercising for an hour a day, 5 times a week to lose weight, according to new research shown here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7530345.stm

"Professor Paul Gately, a specialist in exercise and obesity, from Leeds Metropolitan University, said: "This study is excellent - it's the best evidence that this higher level of exercise is needed.

"Thirty minutes a day is good for general health, but if you want to lose weight, you need to be doing more, and if you want to sustain weight loss, you need to be doing even more than that.

"In this country, between an hour and 90 minutes of exercise a day is the recommended level for maintaining weight loss."

He said that "moderate" exercise covered anything that made you slightly breathless, from brisk walking to gardening."
