I'm not a body builder, but a friend of mine who is swears by flaxseed oil to help weight loss - is that true?  Does it help?  It has omega 3 in it, right?
  • Re: Flaxseed oil

It's a good source of omega 3, and I've also heard about the weight loss thing but don't know if there's any evidence for it.

Flaxseed oils are a great source of the essential fatty acids (EFAs) Omega-6 and Omega-3.  These have been implicated in weight loss in a number of studies.

Even if you don't believe the weight loss claims, there are still numerous other reasons you should be taking EFAs on a daily basis.

I really believe that the omega 3/6 can help  - I've seen kids who really calm down once they start taking it.
  • Re: Flaxseed oil

I use it regualrly and it seems to help when I'm trying to cut a bit.

I use it - there's quite a bit of evidence that it helps weight loss, plus all the other benefits.  I think everyone should be taking omega 3/6, and to me this is one of the best ways.

I'd never heard of that - I may have to give it a go.
