It's been pretty slippery lately running on footpaths - are off road running shoes worth considering?  Are they any better in the wet?

I think they tend to have deeper treads, which would make them a little better.

Mine have stiffer soles for rocky ground, and good lugged treads for grip when it's slippery.  They're not as comfortable as my regular shoes, but are better in mud and stuff.
