    I read somewhere that you sweat less as you get older, so old people can't cope as well with hot weather - any idea if that's true?

    The latest research suggests that it's not due to age per se, but fitness - if you stay in shape as you age, you'll keep your ability to deal with temperature changes.

    But if you're overweight, you sweat more - i wear a lot more clothes on bike rides than my slightly overweight friends.

    It's interesting, isn't it?  Being in shape has a positive effect on so many systems - digestion, sleep, brain function etc, it's really a no brainer!

    It sounds great in theory, doesn't it - sweat less!  but not so good if you exercise in hot weather.  i guess i should be glad i'm a "sweater"!

    i know my mum has a hard time in the heat these days, but whe she was younger she loved being out in the sun.

    I sweat a lot, but then i also deal well with the heat - i guess they sort of go together?

    that's a weird one, isn't it  -seems it's good to sweat?
