    My uncle says that weights is bad for your blood pressure - is that true?

    There is a small increase in blood pressure when you strain to lift something, but I reckon being fat and out of shape is much worse for your blood pressure than lifting weights.

    It won't cause you to have high blood pressure, but if you already suffer from hypertension, check with your doctor before doing any exercise.

    Exactly - just check with your doctor if you have a concern.

    I think there's very few people for whom that would apply - and they'd probably know it because they would have chronic hypertension.
