    Saw an interesting report in the paper last week, thought i'd share it.  They said when they compared to groups, a diet group and an exercise group, although both lost about the same amount of weight, the diet group lost muscle - so long term they were more likely to put fat back on.  Interesting.

    Muscle mass is so important for long term weight control, and diets are so bad for muscle mass...the math is pretty easy from there.

    it's probably jusy psychological but i feel fatter if i skip a few days workouts - just sort of sluggish.

    I also find that when i'm working out hard i don't want to blow it by eating crap.

    so does any type of exercise make you get muscles?

    I find exercise key to maintaining my weight and as soon as i stop i put it back on again. I go to the gym and do weight training because i was told you burn more calories, which is great news

    That also means that during the diet, the exercise group had lost more fat. I'd have to say I find it hard to lsoe a few pounds if i'm not working out.
