    Hi,

I've always struggled with food and weight throughout my life.I am looking for more support and guidance from those who are also on the mission to lose weight in the coming New Year.

I have done Taekwondo for 10 years and just recently received my 2nd degree Black belt, I train on average four hours a week and occassionaly an extra two hours which provides me with a tougher work out. I am not the best runner in the world, I enjoy walking and I love the Gym but I am a poor student. My college work will often prevent me from attending my regular Taekwondo sessions and I gain weight very easily. I have issues with over eating and not eating at all, it is all linked with psychological issues but I do gain an awesome amount of weight if I have to stay home and work :( On that note I was wondering if anyone could provide me with information on a variety of exercises.

I have been a Vegetarian since I was 7 years old, I am interested in becoming a Vegan, I enjoy browsing in Health food stores such as Holland&Barrat and I love soya products. I am roughly a size 10 and around 9st ish (no scales to hand) I am 5ft 3" so 8 and a half stone would be perfect for my height. I have set one of my New Years Resolutions to be size 8 for 2008! I am not very good at keeping a food diary and I often eat meals very late as I have a habit of not eating at all during the day, my sleeping habits are very inconsistant depending on whether its a weekday or on the weekend, in fact my eating habits are also very inconsistant, I can go from starving to binging in one day...

I apologise for the novel but I wanted others to be able to understand the reasons behind my struggle with weight loss and I'm hoping other feel comforted that they're not alone in suffering from similar problems.I would appreciate any advice anyone has to give and I am happy to support others.

Thank you and good luck with your New Years Resolutions!

I can relate to a lot of that - i'm not very consistent, but i do know that times when i plan it (take food to work etc) are when i do better.

i was always a late night snacker - i've set myself a deadline of no food after 8:00 pm, it works really well.

My friend says he always sets his resolutions in February - reckons by then he has a more realistic idea of what he can actually achieve.
