i think anything in moderation good, try running off road as the surface is kinder to knees

That was really tragic wasn't it? It's called hyponatraemia, and it happens when you drink so much water that the sodium levels in your body become too low. In long races (marathon, triathlon etc) you need too get electrolytes on board regularly - gatorde, powerade etc.
